Bits and bobs that made me smile this week….

There have been a few chortlesome moments this week which are worth sharing with you. Feel free to share with anyone who might be a bit down in the dumps or needs to raise a smile!

First up, the gloriously buffoonish Boris Johnson knocking over an unassuming kid in Japan whilst doing a rugby demo

You’ve surely seen this video, which made me smile, but here it is again…..

But the bit that made me laugh out-loud was his apology / non-apology, which read like this:

“We have just played a game of street rugby with a bunch of kids and I accidentally flattened a 10-year-old, on TV unfortunately,” he said.

“But, he bounced back, he put it behind him, the smile returned rapidly to his face. Poor little guy, I hope he is all right,” he said. “He seemed very cheerful afterwards. He bounced back. That’s a metaphor for life. In the words of Chumbawamba, you get knocked down then you get up again. Obviously, I’m a bit out of practice, if I ever was in practice.

“There can be no possible excuse except to say that that is what rugby is like,” he added.

So, basically: sorry, not sorry! Oh Boris! 🙂

And then this video, which I showed my mother only because I wanted to watch her laugh outloud and have tears pouring down her face. I knew this would touch her funny bone!

I defy you not to laugh! If you laughed or smiled, share it!

Other smile-worthy moments?

  • My cat sitting on my lap all weekend whilst I recover from a bout of tiredness (read as late night!). She hasn’t done that in a long time.
  • My lovely friends being all kind and caring and inspiring. Friends rock.
  • Being grateful for food and warmth and love.
  • Acknowledging the challenges life throws at you. This quote rang true for me this week: “Life just doesn’t hand you things. You have to get out there and make things happen. That’s the exciting part.”

Joyful!
